A: We have two studios located at 1157 E John Sims Pkwy in the Parkway East shopping mall. The first studio, facing the street, offers hot yoga and active flow classes. The second studio is accessed through the double doors to the right of the first studio. It's the first door on the left in the hallway and offers gentle, yin, restorative, and meditative practices.

Q: What is Om and why do some teachers sing it in class and others do not?

A: Om is a mantra or symbol that is commonly used in yoga as a way to focus the mind and create a sense of calm. While it has spiritual and cultural significance in some traditions, it does not necessarily have any religious connotations in the context of yoga practice. Teachers are encouraged to share their authentic experience of yoga. Om, like other tools such as breath, eye gaze, movement, and intention, can help focus the mind during yoga practice.

Q: Is Yoga a religion?

A: Yoga itself is not a religion and is open to people of all faiths. It is a holistic practice that can benefit individuals in many ways, including reducing stress, improving flexibility and strength, and promoting overall well-being. Christians and people of all religions are welcome to practice yoga and can approach it in a way that aligns with their personal beliefs and values.
